Counterfeit risk is significant: SAMR seized 14,200 kg of adulterated Shawan in 2022, primarily in e-commerce channels. Authentic cans bear holographic Yili logo, batch code traceable via Yili’s WeChat mini-program, and tamper-evident foil seal with ‘YILI’ embossed lettering. We train families to verify authenticity before purchase—especially when ordering online.

Finally, cost-effectiveness matters. At ¥198 per 900-g can (Shawan Gold), Shawan costs 18% less per 100 kcal than Enfamil NeuroPro (¥242) and 22% less than Similac Pro-Advance (¥254) in Shanghai retail outlets (2023 price survey, n=37 pharmacies). For families managing feeding on tight budgets, this accessibility supports consistent nutrition without compromise.

As pediatric nurses, our role extends beyond administration—we are interpreters of science, advocates for safety, and partners in family-centered care. Shawan’s rigorous standards, transparent formulation, and real-world performance data make it a reliable option when breast milk is unavailable or insufficient. Yet no formula replaces the immunologic and developmental benefits of human milk. We continue to prioritize lactation support, donor milk access, and compassionate shared decision-making—ensuring every infant receives nutrition that is not only safe and adequate, but also delivered with dignity and evidence-informed care.

Our NICU feeding guidelines now incorporate Shawan-specific protocols, updated quarterly using SAMR alerts, CFSA bulletins, and internal adverse event logs. These are shared openly with regional health departments and translated into Mandarin, Bahasa, and Vietnamese to support cross-border clinical consistency. With ongoing surveillance and caregiver engagement, Shawan remains a benchmark for quality in the evolving landscape of infant nutrition.
