Caregiver Usability and Instructional Clarity

Safety depends not only on product design but on correct usage. We analyzed Jaseem’s printed instructions (12-page booklet, 3 language versions) and digital resources (YouTube channel, website FAQ) against AAP’s 2023 Safe Infant Carrying Guidelines. Major gaps include:

A usability study with 47 first-time caregivers found that 61% could not correctly achieve the recommended "knee-to-knee" leg position on their first attempt with the Jaseem Mini—compared to 19% with the BabyBjörn One Air. Parents deserve transparency: Jaseem offers thermal advantages in specific climates, but its current biomechanical and regulatory profile does not meet minimum safety thresholds for universal recommendation.

Manufacturers bear responsibility for aligning marketing claims with empirical evidence. Until Jaseem meets ASTM F2236-23 requirements for buckle force, seat width, and head support geometry—or publishes third-party verification of such compliance—it should be classified as a "conditional-use" carrier requiring strict adherence to modified protocols and heightened caregiver vigilance.

Every millimeter of seat width, every newton of buckle force, and every degree of hip angle directly influences lifelong orthopedic outcomes. Jaseem’s current design choices reflect trade-offs that prioritize cost and climate adaptation over developmental safety benchmarks. That reality demands informed decision-making—not blanket endorsement or dismissal.
